In the beautiful setting of Blidinje Nature Park, a workshop titled “Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Tourism along Via Dinarica” was held on April 22–23, 2025. The event brought together representatives from three key Via Dinarica info centers: Blidinje Nature Park, the Vrela Mountain Lodge – Tušila (Visočica), and Sutjeska National Park.
The workshop was organized as part of the project “Sustainable Tourism for Green Development along the Via Dinarica Trails in Bosnia and Herzegovina” implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH), with financial support from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS Tirana), the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), and the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The two-day workshop program began on Tuesday, April 22, with the arrival and accommodation of participants, followed by a brief introduction to the hosts and a presentation on the natural values of Blidinje Nature Park, led by the park's director, Zdravko Kutle. Afterwards, representatives of the info centers individually presented the activities and current challenges faced in the operation of their centers. The evening concluded with a shared dinner and informal socializing.
Wednesday, April 23, was dedicated to a more intensive part of the program. After breakfast and an organized tour of the park, the day continued with a series of thematic presentations:
- Božena Kaltak, the Via Dinarica project manager, spoke about the importance of the Via Dinarica centers for the development of trails and destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Zehrudin Isaković, president of the Terra Dinarica association, presented the Via Dinarica trails and the work of the Terra Dinarica organization.
- Admir Logo, a member of the project team, introduced current Via Dinarica projects, with an emphasis on planned activities involving the Via Dinarica centers.
- Maja Vican, also from the project team, discussed the importance of branding and communication through info centers.
The workshop concluded with an interactive exercise and discussion on ways to improve the work of info centers and strengthen their role in promoting sustainable tourism, followed by a group lunch.
We extend our sincere thanks to all partners for their active participation, as well as to our hosts from Blidinje Nature Park for their warm hospitality.
This workshop marks yet another important step in building a strong network of Via Dinarica info centers—places that connect nature, communities, and a shared vision of a sustainable future.
