DELIGHTFUL, YET OURS
Raduša and Makljen, Ljubuša and Vran — entwined in a dance, they reflect in the waters of Rama Lake. It was created in 1968 through the construction of a dam on the Rama River. Stretching over 12 kilometers with a maximum depth of 95 meters, the lake is fed by the sources of Rama, Buk, and Krupić, as well as several smaller streams.
With its clarity and beauty, Rama Lake is an ideal destination for day trips and swimming in the scorching summer. The sight of Rama Lake is almost surreal, ranking it among the most beautiful lakes in Europe. The area has well-developed sports, recreational, fishing, hunting, ecological, and religious tourism infrastructure. Sport fishing is popular and the lake is regularly stocked with fish. Local, national, and international fishing competitions are held here.

The lake also offers excellent rowing conditions. The first rowing club in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Rama Rowing Club, is active here. It provides kayak rentals along the lake with all the necessary equipment. Kayaks are perfect for reaching the inaccessible parts of the coastline. You can also rent boats to visit the sources of the Rama River, the dam, numerous islands, and the Šćit Peninsula. The peninsula is home to the famous Franciscan monastery with the House of Peace and a museum featuring a valuable art gallery. The cultural landscape and the area, including the Franciscan monastery and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Šćit, were designated as national monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2006.
